It all started in 1948. Remigio Solari, a self-taught engineer, fitted alphanumeric characters and text onto metal flaps attached on a wheel mechanism, enclosed it within a glass display and the Solari board was born. And for decades, travelers around the world have relied on the Solari board for departure and arrival information in airports and train stations.

In 1965, after Remigio's death, architect Gino Valle incorporated the Solari board's ingenious technology with clock-work, and designed the first flip clock in the world: the timeless Cifra 3. It won the prestigious Compasso d'Oro prize for design and has been shown at the Museum of Modern Art in New York and is in the permanent collection of the Science Museum in London.

This mini sized flip clock Captures the essence of the original Cifra 3 technology in a simplistic design. It shows the time in bold white silkscreened numbers on a dark black surface. This modern look makes it fit effortlessly into your office environment or home.

The clock is powered by two C batteries which keep it juiced for months. You can adjust the timing using the turn dial on both sides.
